Plot synopsis[edit]
Azhagi is the story of Sundari (Viji Chandrasekhar). a 40-year-old widow, who has struggled for the last 20 years with the sole aim of bringing up her children all by herself. The story underscores how these vulnerable yet resilient widow battles the hardships life throws at her.

Nayagi (transl. Leading Lady) is a 2018 Tamil-languagesoap opera starring Vidya Pradeep, Sushma Nair and Dhilip Rayan in the lead roles. It also features Ambika, Papri Ghosh and Vetrivelan. The show premiered on 19 February 2018 on Sun TV, replacing Deivamagal, and airs Monday to Saturday. The show is produced by Vikatan Televistas Pvt Ltd and directed by S. Kumaran
Nayagi is a family drama revolving around three women: Anandhi, a sweet-natured girl who takes life in her stride; Vasanthi, the lady of an empire, but a bird in a gilded cage; and Sargunam, a formidable woman who has risen amidst all put-downs.

The story revolves around Anandhi and her husband Thiru, to overcome all challenges in their life, that was placed by Thiru's father Kalivardhan, and Anandhi's cousin sister Ananya.Anandhi, a middle class woman, struggles to keep her life together while dealing with an alcoholic father and his debts. Though her landlady Sargunam is formidable, she wishes to destroy Kalivardhan.

Casting[edit]
Actress Vidya Pradeep was selected to portray the role of Anandhi after the exit of Vijayalakshmi.[1] Sun TV Anchor Dhilip Rayan was cast in the lead male role of Thirumurugan. They made their debuts[clarification needed] with the series. Actress Ambika was selected to portray the role of Sarkunam, making a comeback after previously acting in the serial Sare Gama Gama Gama (2013–2014). Malayalam Actress Meera Krishnan was selected to play Vasanthi, after having appeared in director Thiruselvam Tamil serial Pokkisham (2012–2013)[2]

Promotion[edit]
On 10 February 2018, the first promo of Ambika's 'Naayagi Teaser: Sarkunam' was released by Vikatan TV on YouTube.[3] On 10 February, the second lead female.[clarification needed] On 13 and 14 February, the third (Kalivardhan) and fourth (Meera Krishnan) promos of the show were released by Vikatan TV YouTube channel and Sun TV.
